Although we aim to be a non-profit making organization we have an annual membership to cover running costs and any profit will be re-invested into the association.
Individuals: To become an individual member of BSBA, each boot-fitter will either have been assessed by a trainer and met our
stringent requirements or will have undergone and passed at least one of our training
courses. Boot-fitters who already have a wealth of experience and skill will be evaluated individually by our training team and given training exemptions where appropriate. We would expect them to continue with the Skibootpro training going forward, to be members of BSBA. It is expected that membership fees will reduce the more members we have, as we are not a profit making association.
Retailers:
Retailers who are interested in more information on membership should read the blog on wordpress
They have to comply with the following stringent membership criteria.
Silver members must have their staff accredited with Skibootpro level 1, have customizing facilities for boots and at least trim-to-fit foot beds. They should have at least one member of staff with level 201.
Gold members have staff with Skibootpro levels 1 and 2 in each store, and customized foot bed facilities and a boot modification lab. They should have at least one member of staff with level 301.
Platinum members have at least one staff member with level 301 in each store, as well as a majority of staff with level 1's and
2's to mentor in each shop, individual boot appointments, customized footbeds on offer, an in-house pedorthist/podiatrist/biomechanist and a boot
modification lab.
If only one member of staff has a Skibootpro level, then individual membership is more appropriate (unless the retailer only has one boot fitter) as retailer members are expected to put their staff through the system.
Retailers: For more information on membership should read the blog on wordpress.
Important note: We realise that as the BSBA accreditation is a new scheme and most boot fitters will not have any BSBA levels at the moment (unless you have attended an Anything Technical or Bootcamp course which are equivalent to Level 101), however this will change once courses are undertaken for season 2011/12. We do have exceptions to this, see the course information page for details.

Notes:
Retailers who have individual membership but want to have upgrade to Shop membership will receive their original membership payment as a discount. If only one member of staff has a
Skibootpro level, then individual membership is more appropriate (unless you only have one boot fitter) as
retailer members are expected to put their staff through the system. It is completely up to the retailer wither they pay all the course fees for their boot fitters. We would suggest that the individual membership should be paid by their staff after (or including) the first year. After all they are getting certification and membership benefits. Nb If a retailer does not put any staff on courses in a membership year, then we can issue 2 more individual memberships with the retailer membership fee.
Once a course is taken as an
Associate member, you can become a Full member with a payment of £10.
Membership runs annually Aug-Aug.
Individuals/Retailer memberships: Every year you are expected to pay the annual membership. If not, you cannot do a BSBA course and your membership listing is removed.
Note: BSBA courses are presently suspended
See Anything Technical, Boot camp and Maserterfit University for alternative training courses.
